Visiting Student Application for Admission

Please read the following instructions before beginning your application.

Due to space limitations, Georgetown is not in a position to offer admission to visiting (non-degree) students except in unusual circumstances. Admission for visiting students is generally for one semester, and the Dean’s office must approve a second semester. The following procedure must be followed:

You must submit your application no later than July 15 for admission in the Fall Semester and November 15 for admission in the Spring Semester. Additionally, you must provide a complete set of transcripts from your high school and any college-level work that you have completed. You must have them sent directly from your school to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by using the recommendation request page of the application or sending them by either postal mail or email to the appropriate address listed below. Finally, please send any SAT or ACT results that you may have received.

Final decisions will be made by August 10 for the Fall Semester and December 10 for the Spring Semester. Students who are earning degrees at schools other than Georgetown and who wish to attend Georgetown as “Guest Students” must attach to their visiting student applicant materials a letter from their Dean approving the credits to be taken at Georgetown for the degree at their schools.

The applicant and parent or guardian signing below understand, and agree, that this Application, the Secondary School Report, and the Teacher's Report and any other information received by the Admissions Office as part of the admissions process are the property of Georgetown University and shall be strictly confidential and shall not be disclosed to anyone other than officials of Georgetown University except at the discretion of the Dean of Admissions. Enrolled students have access to the contents of their files except for confidential documents to which access has been waived by the student.

The applicant and parent or guardian further agree that Georgetown University is a private institution, and as such, retains the right to terminate a student's matriculation at any time his or her academic performance is seriously deficient, his or her conduct becomes injurious to the maintenance of good order or disruptive of an academic atmosphere, or if he or she is found to have engaged in conduct, before or after matriculation, that violates Georgetown’s standards of conduct or integrity.

The applicant and parent or guardian also affirm that the information and statements submitted during the admissions process - including in the application and supporting materials - are true, correct and complete. The applicant understands that Georgetown may take disciplinary action, including rescission of admission and dismissal from the university, if information or statements submitted during the admissions process are incomplete, inaccurate, or false. If the applicant received assistance from a third party in completing the application, the applicant takes full responsibility for the accuracy of the information that was submitted. The applicant will notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions immediately of any changes to the information submitted in the application, including if the applicant has been found responsible for any academic or disciplinary infractions after the application was submitted.

Application Fee Information

Georgetown University requires a $75 non-refundable application fee to process and review your application. However, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will gladly consider fee waiver requests. In order to request a fee waiver you must supply a copy of a College Board waiver, or the NACAC Application Fee Waiver Form or other appropriate documentation from a guidance or college counselor, indicating that the application fee would present a financial hardship.
