Group Visits

Thank you for your interest in bringing a group to campus. We are excited about the possibility of hosting your group and hope to arrange a meaningful visit for your students. Please review our group tour guidelines and then complete and submit the group tour request form below.

  • Group tours of campus are only available to high schools, community based organizations, and educational non-profits working with current high school students. If your group does not fall under one of these categories, your group is welcome to visit campus at your leisure using our self-guided tour document
  • Group tours are available Monday through Friday at 10am and 3:30pm. There is limited group tour availability during University breaks and we do not offer tours on the weekend or on University/Federal Holidays. We are unable to offer tours during Spring Break (March 5-March 9, 2018), Easter Break (March 29-April 2, 2018), the month of May, the second half of August, or between mid-December and mid-January.
  • Group tour requests are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please make your request at least five weeks prior to your requested date, but note that we are unable to process requests made more than three months in advance. You should expect to hear back from us within two weeks of submitting your request.
  • If you are submitting a group tour request on behalf of a high school or organization with which you are not directly affiliated, we will require contact information (including an email address) for at least one group leader who is directly affiliated with the group. We will be unable to confirm a group tour request without this information.
  • We are able to accommodate groups of up to 50 people total, including chaperones. Groups of fewer than 15 students should sign up for our regular information session and campus tour.
  • One student tour guide will lead your group on a 45-minute tour of campus.
  • Groups must check-in at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at least fifteen minutes prior to their scheduled tour. Late arrival of ten minutes or more will result in the loss of your reservation.
  • We are not able to accommodate groups arriving without a reservation.
  • We reserve the right to cancel group tours during inclement or hazardous weather, or if your group does not meet the criteria above.
  • Please be advised that tour bus parking is not available on campus. If you plan to drop students off on campus, you must contact our Office of Transportation Management prior to your arrival to learn about bus drop-off areas and suggested off-campus bus parking. The Office of Transportation Management can be reached at (202) 687-4372.

If you have any questions, please call our office at (202) 687-3600 or email

Upon submission of this form, you will receive a confirmation of the group tour request. The acknowledgement is confirmation of your request, not a confirmation of your appointment. We will review and respond to your request as soon as possible.
